Our staff has participated in a COVID-19 training addressing the new and mandatory cleaning protocols, as well as how to best protect themselves and our dancers from transmission of the disease via social distancing, modified lesson plans & proper use of PPE / cleaning supplies.

The Dancer's Sole has purchased large quantities of professional, hospital-grade and State of MA approved cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer.  These products were purchased through a reputable, State of MA / COVID-19 approved janitorial supply company.  All of the products purchased contain disinfectant suitable to kill the germs and bacteria associated with COVID-19 (as well as flu, common cold, etc.)  Our cleaning supplies will be used by staff only and will be kept in safe, monitored areas of the studio spaces to avoid any potentially dangerous interactions with our students.

Our restrooms are also well-stocked with hand soap, toilet paper and paper towels for frequent use by all.  If at any time the restroom is low on supplies, please notify one of our staff members immediately.

Our studios are cleaned & disinfected daily, multiple times.  Our staff are held accountable to follow and complete detailed checklists after every class.  These checklists are also monitored daily by our management staff, and hung in the two teacher areas and the office in each studio space.

Important Information regarding State of Massachusetts / COVID-19 Regulations, in conjunction with The Dancer's Sole's Policies

Updated October 1st, 2020

  • Dancers, Guests and TDS Faculty/Staff will be required to wear masks at all times, including during their classes.  If a dancer arrives at class without a mask, they will not be allowed to enter the building / participate.  Dancers who cannot wear a mask for health reasons must have a doctor’s note emailed to the office prior to the start of classes on Monday 10/5/2020.
  • The waiting area and physical studio office will remain CLOSED until further notice.  Appointments can be made via email for personal office visits – to make payments, etc.  Email is the best form of communication during this time: dancers_sole@yahoo.com.
  • Drop-Off & Pick-Up: Parents are asked to drop their child no more than 5 minutes prior to the start of their class, and to kindly pick up their child promptly on time at the end of their class(es).  No more than one (1) parent per dancer will be allowed in the building at a time.  Parents will not be allowed to wait inside the building during their child’s class(es).  Dancers who are 11+ years old are asked to be dropped off at the door with parents not entering the building.
  • TDS Faculty and Staff are required to and will be wearing masks for the entire duration of their work day at the studio until further notice.
  • Each studio space will be disinfected & cleaned appropriately between every class, lesson or workshop - paying special attention to high touch-areas (doorknobs, bathrooms, light switches, chairs/countertops, barres, mats, etc.).  Floors will be dry-swept (with a mop, with disinfectant spray applied) in-between every class, lesson or workshop and wet-washed with disinfectant at the end of each day.
  • All dancers, students and staff will be required to wash their hands in the restroom or sanitize their hands prior to beginning each class.  TDS will provide multiple hand sanitizers in each classroom for use by all.
  • TDS has purchased plastic, individual storage buckets for each dancer to place their belongings in for the duration of their class or workshop.  All dance bags/belongings must fit in their individual bucket.  We recommend dancers only bring what they absolutely need to classes: dance shoes, water bottle, etc.  Please leave personal belongings such as tablets, toys, stuffed animals, etc. at home.
  • Dancers (depending on age) and/or staff will wipe their individual bucket before leaving with a sanitizing wipe.  This will safely prepare the buckets for the next dancer(s).
  • Street shoes must be left in the waiting area or at the bottom of the stairs in Studio II - there will be absolutely no street shoes allowed on the studio floors, no exceptions.  This policy will drastically reduce germs from spreading to our dancers and staff during their classes.
  • Water bottles and drinks from home should be clearly labeled with your child's name.  The studio will still be selling waters & snacks, and will provide a name label for your child's purchases if applicable.  We recommend purchasing our Ballet Bucks for $5 for water and snacks - this will lessen the spread of germs through cash with single water & single snack purchases.  Ballet Bucks will be available in each studio space through your child's instructor(s).
  • Students or families that have travelled to a high-risk state during their time of enrollment at The Dancer's Sole will be required to not re-attend their in-person classes at the studio for two weeks after their arrival back to MA.  Zoom options are available for students who are quarantining from their in-person classes.  Please email the office for details should the need arise.
  • Our policies will be continued to be updated on our website as changes continue in the State of Massachusetts' re-opening process and the control of COVID-19.  We appreciate everyone's support as we navigate this new normal together.  As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to us with questions or concerns: dancers_sole@yahoo.com.
